This is an invitation to this important event that seeks to bring together growers, producers, restauranteurs and retailers of food, local to Totnes, together to develop and strengthen our local food network and infrastructure.

                                      Invitation to the launch of the

Food-Link project

 

An event for Producers within a 30 mile radius of Totnes

and for Processors, Restauranteurs and Retailers within the town.

 

 

The two main purposes of this event are to:

  • collectively explore opportunities for expanding the sourcing of local food around Totnes

  • create solutions to some of the barriers and bottlenecks that restrict the availability of local food

When: 6 – 9pm

Where: Totnes Methodist Hall, Fore Street, Totnes, TQ9 5RP (down the side of the church, between Halls the Butchers and Amanda Marsden, hairdressers)

 

 

Programme Details:

 

 

 

 

  • Break-out sessions to examine:

  1. distribution issues for producers

  2. issues with sourcing local produce for retailers, restauranteurs

  3. promoting locally-sourced produce

  4. information required by producers from their buyers to ensure that their produce has a local end-market

  5. opportunities for processing infrastructure in Totnes to enable further expansion of local produce

  6. the potential for a wholesale version of a Food Hub

 

 

 

Light food and refreshments will be available, locally-sourced of course!
