Thank-you for your interest in the 'Totnes on the move' workshops. Previous updates on this project have explained that the next steps in the process will be to set up a steering group to develop a sustainable transport plan for Totnes and the surrounding areas.

At the Totnes Traffic and Transport Forum meeting on 11th May it was explained that the steering group would be tasked with drawing the evidence together, setting a vision with objectives and a delivery plan. This steering group will include Gina Small and Matt Barnes (Devon County Council Transport Planning Team), Cllr Paula Black , an officer from SHDC, a nominated Town Councillor and a representative from the Parish Cluster, with 4-6 places reserved for members of the community.

It will be impossible to include all stakeholders in the steering group and, for this reason, the Steering Group will be publicly accountable through minutes of their meetings which will be posted on the Totnes Traffic and Transport Forum website http://www.transitiontowntotnes.org/groups/transport. and via reporting at the Totnes Traffic and Transport Forum meetings. In effect, this means the Steering Group will be a subgroup of the Forum with a standing agenda item to report. You can also input to the process by submitting comments or ideas to environment@devon.gov.uk. We hope to also set up a facebook page to allow people to get involved as well as post updates in other public locations.
Attached to this email is an open invitation to all interested persons to attend the first Steering Group meeting, at which the Group would be selected. The first Steering group meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th July 9.30 - 1 1.30 pm at St Johns Church, Bridgetown. If you would like to nominate yourself to be on the steering group and haven't done so already please could you email your name and contact details to environment@devon.gov.uk.

With best wishes
Gina Small & Councillor Paula Black
Devon County Council
